The Odyssey at Furman

June 2015-present

 

For the Furman edition of The Odyssey, I am an Assistant Social Media Director and a Student Writer. My responsibilities include maintaining the Pinterest account along with other social media accounts relevant to the site, making sure the articles are shared on each social media platform, and writing one article per week.

 

Dulce Cafe and Gelato

May 2013-present

 

At Dulce, I am the combination of a cashier, barista, and server. I take orders, make and pour drinks, and serve food to customers. Other responsibilities include cleaning, rolling silverware, updating the website, and overall upkeep and supply of the restaurant.

 

Furman University Trone Student Center

January 2013 - present

 

As a student manager in the Trone Student Center, my responsibilities include setting up for events, making sure all AV equipment is set up and working, fixing any problems that come up, customer service, and supervising the student staff.

My duties as a sales associate were to fold and hang merchandise, answer phones as well as make calls to other stores and customers, check online for merchandise not in the store, setting the floor, dressing mannequins, cleaning, and customer service.

 

Tomato Jake's Pizzeria

May 2013-June 2014

 

As a cashier, my responsibilities were to take orders, put slices in the oven, make deliveries, and send food out to the correct customers. Other duties included cleaning and overall upkeep and supply of the restaurant.

 

Moonberries Frozen Yogurt

As a cashier, my responsibilities were to give samples if asked, restock all toppings, and take orders at the register. Other duties included cleaning and overall upkeep and supply of the store.

 

Durham Bulls Athletic Park

May 2009 - August 2012

 

For all four summers of high school, I was a member of Explorer Post 50. This is an internship for high school students that teaches the fundamentals of broadcast journalism. My job was to set up and break down cameras and film the games with the cameras or work another position such as graphics or VTR.

 

Durham Academy Summer Programs

June 2006-present

 

As a teaching assistant, my main job is to make sure the children are playing nicely and resolve any conflicts that arise. I also help with daily projects and cleanup.
